Tesla - Simplicity Tour

Stage AE, Pittsburgh, PA 8.14.14

Tesla returned to Pittsburgh last Thursday, on tour in support of their new album, Simplicity.  The band, which has been together for 27 years now, showed they are still going strong to a nearly packed Stage AE.  Having two of the most talented guitarists in the business, in Frank Hannon and Dave Rude, the music alone is worth the price of admission.  Add in Jeff Keith, a front man with a truly unique voice and style, and a rhythm section consisting of powerhouses Brian Wheat and Troy Luccketta, a Tesla show is an event not to be missed.  They entertained the crowd with nearly two hours of their hits interspersed with songs from the new album.  The new stuff is very good, but somehow becomes better, more alive, when performed on stage.  The crowd was definitely having a good time, including the guy doing some variation of a pole dance on the stair railing.  It was disturbing, and a miracle he didn’t fall on his head, but at least he enjoyed himself.  Enjoy more photos of the show in the gallery, and please take a listen to this extraordinary band if you have not done so yet.

Set list included:  "MP3", "Mamas Fool", "Little Suzi", "So Devine", "Hang Tough", "What You Give", "Cross My Heart", "Edison’s Medicine", "Signs", "Love Song", "Modern Day Cowboy", "The Way It Is", and "Heaven’t Trail (No Way Out)".

Review also appears in Hair Metal Mansion.
